The Blackwing Pie

She pins you down with a knowing grin,
a challenge in her gaze,
and sets a dark and heavy pie
upon the table's base.

She watches you with hooded eyes,
a quiet on her face,
till the crust gives way, and squealing bats
erupt across the space!
