There is an old story about Room 512 and a dessert that once appeared on the hotel’s room-service menu called Death by Chocolate.

It was an extravagant creation, layered with chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, ganache, and dark chocolate truffles. Guests who ordered it were always warned that it was meant to be shared.

Years ago, a guest staying in Room 512 ordered one late in the evening. He enjoyed it so much that he called room service again and ordered another.

By midnight, he had ordered four.

The following morning, the guest was found gravely ill in his room. He was rushed to the hospital, but he never recovered.

Afterward, the hotel quietly removed Death by Chocolate from the menu, and for many years, no one spoke of it again.

Then, strange reports began coming from Room 512.

Every so often, a guest staying in the room will call the front desk late at night to complain about an unexpected room-service delivery. When the staff arrive, they find a single slice of Death by Chocolate waiting outside the door.
